MINISTRY OF PARISH REPRESENTATIVE

For organisational purposes our parish is divided into small areas each comprising a small number of adjacent streets. The parishioners in these areas have one of their own people who have been asked or have volunteered to be their parish representative. The areas of the parish together with names of the representatives are on show in the narthex. If you are new to St Edward's please make contact with your representative who will be able to introduce you to your local parishioners.

The role of parish representative is one of the most important ministries in the community. It is a role based on relationships between us which enables information beneficial or vital to our spiritual and temporal needs to be transmitted between our Church and our Community. Our concern for those around us will ensure that no one feels isolated, particularly new members, the sick and the housebound.

Representatives need the support of people in their areas who should always be aware of the need to provide regular successors thereby supporting the priest in his overall care for the total community. The more people involved, the less work for us all. If you would like to help or to know more please make enquiries when you visit St Edwards.
